Meet Gemma.
Founder & Educator of Birthability
Hello, Lovely
How I support families
Across our time together, I combine solid birth education, mindset support, Optimal Maternal Positioning strategies and practical, hands-on tools so you and your partner feel informed, prepared and steady as birth unfolds.
My role is not to manage birth medically, but to support you through it. I’m there to offer calm reassurance, physical comfort measures, clarity when decisions arise and guidance that helps you feel confident rather than overwhelmed.
Above all, my goal is simple: to help women and their partners feel informed, supported and proud, supported and positive about their birth experience, wherever and however it unfolds. I want YOU to be in the drivers seat of your birth experiance.
From evidence-based education to honest, practical support, I help expecting parents ditch the confusion and overwhelm and feel genuinely ready for birth.
I’m Gemma Wilson, a Central Coast childbirth educator, certified doula and Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP) educator with over ten years of experience supporting families across home, public and private hospital births. I’ve had the privilege of supporting more than 400 families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, both in person and online.
My work bridges the gap between standard antenatal education and the deeper, practical understanding that actually makes a difference on the day. I don’t work from a single philosophy or push a particular “right” way to birth. Instead, I support informed choice and tailor my care to you, your preferences and your circumstances.
My approach is evidence-based, adaptable and grounded in real-world experience. I focus on what genuinely supports birth: preparation that builds confidence, hands-on comfort measures that work in real time, positioning and movement that support labour progress, and partner support that helps couples work as a calm, connected team.
I’m known for my steady presence and down-to-earth teaching style. I take complex birth concepts and turn them into clear, usable knowledge so parents don’t just understand birth in theory, but feel capable and confident when it matters most.
Based on the Central Coast, NSW, and available online across Australia and worldwide, I support families who want clear information, practical tools and support that meets them where they are.
Why this work matters to me
The birth of your children are moments that stay with you forever.
I remember the day my babies entered the world with such clarity. I felt proud, empowered, amazed and completely in awe of what my body had just done. It was overwhelming, emotional and deeply transformative. My body made these tiny humans and brought them into the world, and that experience changed me.
The birth of my two children didn’t just change my world on the day they were born. It quietly redirected my life.
Those experiences led me toward birth work and a deep desire to support other families through one of the most intense, vulnerable and meaningful times of their lives. I know how powerful birth can be, not just in the moment, but in how it stays with you long after.
